As a small business I was absolutely delighted to take part in the 2022 Northern Ireland Science Festival programme!

As part of the festival, our ‘Amazing Animals’ sessions have been taking place over the last few days. Participating classes and pupils from across Northern Ireland have taken part in online and in-person interactive animal education sessions to investigate some of the animals that are depicted in the Armagh Robinson Library's collections and to learn more about nature and biodiversity.

After hearing the story of ‘The Lion and the Mouse’ and how we can all make a difference in the world, I (Allan the Explorer) introduced and discussed some of our wee critters including William Snakespeare the milk snake, Bruno the harvest mouse, Dobby the white-faced owl and Pepper the barn owl.

Thank you to the NI Science Festival, Armagh Robinson Library & No 5 and the Northern Ireland Museums Council, and Art Fund whose ‘Museums Connect’ funding made the sessions possible.

𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗪𝗘𝗘 𝗖𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦!

We unfortunately live in a world where many species of both animals and plants are on the brink of extinction. We believe that developing an appreciation of wildlife in our local community is a fundamental element in safeguarding the safety and future of our wildlife and environment.

Our mission is to bring the wonder of wildlife straight to your classroom, group or event with the aim of providing a unique, fun, memorable and educational experience which will inspire a lifelong appreciation for wildlife and commitment to playing an active role in the protection and conservation of animals and the natural environment.
